Selection
will take place every week after the previous weeks
game on a day, time location determined by the selection
committee.
The
selection committee will consist of the coach, each
team captain or nominated vice captains if the captains
cannot attend.
It
is the captains task to bring to the meeting players
availabilities for the forthcoming weekends game
and training.
The
coach and 1st team captain will select the first team
and the players picked to represent the club in this
side will depend on his attitude, the effort he puts
into playing and training and his regular availability.
The 2nd team captain will then discuss with the coach
and 1st team captain on his selection for the coming
Saturday. The intention is to create a squad of players
who can swap between the two sides giving 100% for whatever
side they play for. The 3rd team captain will select
the third team after the 1st and 2nd teams have been
selected. All sides will select 18 players including
a front row sub if possible.
The
players selected for the 1st team will be notified on
training night by the coach/captain. If a player is
dropped from the first team for whatever reason the
coach will explain his decision and he will discuss
it with the player at the training the following week.
All other players will be called by their relevant captain.
If no player has heard which team he is playing for
by Thursday evening he should call the club captain.
If possible Selection for all three sides will be displayed
on the notice board at the club.
Any
player who consistently does not show or is it late
to games will be dropped to the lowest side until such
time their attitude or attendance improves.
Our
aim is to make sure everybody gets a game and enjoys
their rugby. It is also the purpose to create a club
structure and not teams within a club. We are one club
with a structure in place for people to follow and people
will be given the opportunity to play at every level,
we also understand some players only want to play at
certain levels.
Training
will be taken by the coach and will take place every
Tuesday and Thursday evening throughout the summer starting
at the club from 7pm. Training is for all players and
is not centered on certain individuals or a team. All
players are encouraged to attend training but training
is not compulsory and we do not have a no train no play
policy! However we do expect all 1st team players to
make extra effort to attend training the training night
before the league game on a Saturday. Training is there
to be enjoyed and improve your skill and fitness levels
and enhance the teams chances of winning.
For
all Kent Division 2 league games all players are expected
to wear a white shirt and club tie before and after
the game.
It
is important to communicate any problems or grievances
with team play or selection with the coach, team or
club captain.
